Welcome To Safe Boaters of New Hampshire

This group is dedicated to discussing safe power boating and recreational activities on Lake Winnipesaukee and the other inland lakes of the Lakes Region in NH. We work together to help shape legislation that affects our freedoms and enjoyment of the lakes.

Most all the members of this group have joined because we love the joy of boating and want nothing more then to work with the Marine Patrol and legislatures to make the Lakes Region a safer and more enjoyable environment for all boaters. As a collective group we have thousands of hours, and hundreds of years behind the helms of many various forms of water craft. Many of our members also have experience navigating in waterways outside of NH. It is this diverse nature of our group that allows us to work on and tackle issues while keeping everyone’s right to enjoy the lake in mind. We are currently partnering with other organizations to provided safety information regarding boating operation, coast guard regulations and NH Dept. of Safety regulations to help make boating safer and more enjoyable for everyone. Please see the safety inspection link on the left for a list of US Power Squadron Safety Inspection sites and dates around the Lakes Region. We hope to not only work with the Power Squadron to help spread the word about free safety inspections, but hope this relationship will blossom into future joint efforts to promote boating safety.

Shortly we will begin to start branching out into other areas as well, such as caring for the delicate eco-systems of the lakes themselves. We realize that for the lakes to be there for future generations to enjoy we must start work now to preserve them. We hope to work with local, and state agencies to understand what can be done to combat invasive plant species like milfoil, and then do our part to help educate the public at large. Safe Boaters of New Hampshire is always open to other worthy causes to improve boating in the Granite State for all New Englanders and its visitors. If you know of an issue or would be interested in helping us in our current endeavors please use our "Contact Us" form linked on the left. We will respond with a follow up email or phone call.

Please take your time to look at the information we have available today on our website regarding some of the most recent hot issues, including the Lake Winnipesaukee speed limit and there possible effects on the lakes and surrounding areas.
